Earlier in the day, Mr. Kumar held his last State Cabinet meeting. He informed his Cabinet colleagues about his decision to dissolve the Council of Ministers, a constitutional requirement before tendering his resignation. Meanwhile Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary is set to become the next CM of Bihar after he was elected as the BJP’s leader of the Legislature Party in the State. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin, on Tuesday (April 14, 2026), warned of a massive protest that would bring the State to a standstill if the BJP-led Union government took a decision on delimitation that would affect the southern States and offer more political power to the northern States. “We will not remain silent. Tamil Nadu will come to a standstill. It will register its protest vehemently. Every family will come out to the streets. We will organise a big protest under my leadership,” he said in a video message.
