Selva Muthu Kumar Folk dancers and drummers attired in colour-coded costumes to match the political party, have brought verve and energy to campaign meetings in Tamil Nadu in the run-up to the Legislative Assembly elections. This year, the performances seem to resemble carnivals. Stilt walkers mingle with dancing gorilla mascots while dancers carrying large props of political party symbols thrill bystanders with showers of confetti.
