A growing section of government doctors in Telangana has raised concerns over the increasing use of lateral absorption to fill teaching posts in major medical colleges, alleging that it bypasses established recruitment norms and service rules. Doctors, speaking on condition of anonymity, point to a pattern of policy relaxations and fast-tracked administrative decisions that they say could undermine merit and transparency in faculty appointments under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
