Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged the Centre to constitute either a Commission or a Cabinet Sub-Committee to build a national consensus on major electoral reforms, including women’s reservation, delimitation, an increase in legislative seats, and simultaneous elections.

Mr. Reddy said the Union Government should consult political parties, intellectuals, and social scientists before making decisions on such critical issues. “The Centre cannot thrust its views on States or political parties. Not taking them into confidence goes against the Constitution and the federal spirit,” he said.
