Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti of the Telangana High Court imposed ₹50,000 costs on the officials of Central Drug Standards Control Organisation-Hyderabad zonal office, observing that they resorted to abuse of power by making a retired employee of Hindustan Antibiotics Limited an accused in a case without any basis. The judge also quashed the case, registered against the retired person A.K. Gupta, pending on the file of First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge court at Nampally. The CDSCO officials along with CBI officers collected samples of drugs from the Central Hospital of South Central Railway at Lallaguda in 2010. With the tests revealing that the sample of drugs was not of standard quality, a case was registered.
