The newly appointed TDP committees in Nandyal and Anantapur districts took charge amid much fanfare on Sunday. The newly appointed presidents and members took oath in the presence of Roads and Buildings Minister BC Janardhan Reddy, Minorites Welfare Minister N. MD Farooq, MLAs and senior leaders.

In Nandyal, Panyam MLA and senior leader Gouru Charitha Reddy was sworn-in as president of the district party unit while N. MD Feroze as general secretary.

Mr Janardhan Reddy urged the new committee to strengthen the party in the district and stressed the need for the district leadership to stand in support of the party cadre and leaders. Mr Janardhan Reddy said that the NDA government is delivering welfare and development-oriented governance under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.

“We are implementing all the promises made as part of the ‘Super Six’ manifesto. It is the responsibility of the party cadre to take the development works to the people. Our responsibility has increased with the people giving a massive mandate to us,” he said and asked the party leaders to prove their mettle in the coming local bodies elections.

Mr Farooq said the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders are resorting to false propaganda against the government which is working in a democratic manner. “We are not going to be cowed down by the YSRCP’s threats as it will not come back to power,” he said.

The Ministers said that the YSRCP leaders have no right to talk against the government as it had failed to even secure the Opposition party status. “If they are sincere about working for the people, the party MLAs should attend the Assembly sessions. ”

In Anantapur, Pula Nagaraju and Sridhar Chowdary were sworn-in as the party president and general secretary in the presence of Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, MLAs Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad, G. Jayaram, JC Asmit Reddy and others.
