However, this is nothing to be surprised about if one goes by the data regarding the votes polled during Assembly elections in the last 20 years. In fact, this is an illustration of the tradition in Tamil Nadu where people’s interest in the polling process has always been higher during the Assembly polls than during the Lok Sabha elections.
