The Manipal Hospital, Vijayawada, is planning to organise an awareness run in the city on February 1 to mark World Cancer Day and to raise awareness on cancer prevention, early detection and healthy living. According to a press note from the management, hospital Director J. Ramanjaneya Reddy and Radiation Oncology consultant Rama Krishna met Director-General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta on Wednesday at his office and requested him to flag off the run. Later, the DGP unveiled a poster and a shirt for the run, which will begin at 5 a.m. from the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium. The event will have 5K and 10K run categories, and is open to all.
