Robbery accused sentenced to seven years imprisonment

A Mangaluru court on Tuesday, sentenced a 38-year-old resident of Shivamogga to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed fine of ₹50,000 on finding him guilty of robbing a mobile phone and a gold necklace of a man in June 2017.

Additional District and Sessions Judge, Fast Track Sessions Court-1, Mangaluru, J.S. Mohana, upheld the criminal appeal by the government and convicted 38-year-old Shivakumar of RML Nagar in Shivamogga for the offence under Section 392 of Indian Penal Code. The case against another accused Mutthum got abated following his death.
