A remand prisoner who escaped by jumping out of a police escort vehicle near Chanchalguda crossroads was apprehended within 30 minutes by patrol teams on Monday (April 20) evening. The accused was identified as Sagula Naresh, one among three prisoners lodged in Chanchalguda Jail, who were being transported to Bowenpally police station for interrogation in another case on a PT warrant. Police said that while being brought back to jail at around 5 p.m., the vehicle halted in traffic near Chanchalguda crossroads. Taking advantage of the situation, Naresh leapt out of the vehicle and fled. Officials said the prisoners were being transported in a private vehicle at the time.
