A 22-year-old remand prisoner lodged at Central Prison in Puzhal, died at Government Stanley Hospital after undergoing treatment for a brain haemorrhage. Police sources said the deceased has been identified as Guruprasad, 22, of Medavakkam. He was arrested in an attempt to murder case and remanded to judicial custody on March 24. He was lodged at Central Prison since then.
