Praveen Kumar chaired a preparatory meeting with officials of various departments for the Chithirai festival here on Saturday. Some of the key issues discussed at the meeting were with regard to ensuring basic amenities for the public who are expected to participate in large numbers, the security arrangements and other arrangements. The ‘pattabishekam’ will take place on April 26, followed by ‘digvijayam’ on April 27. The grand celestial wedding, the Thirukalyanam will be held on April 28 and the car festival on April 29. Ethir Sevai for Lord Kallazhagar will take place on April 30, followed by Lord Kallazhagar’s entry into Vaigai river on May 1.
