According to an official release from the Election Commission of India (EC) issued on Thursday, the poll percentage of women was 85.76%, while that of men was 83.57%. It means about 2.51 crore women (of the total 2.93 crore in the Tamil Nadu electorate) voted across the State on April 23, while only about 2.34 crore men (of the total 2.8 crore men in the electorate) voted. In the 2021 Assembly elections, the polling percentage of women was 72.61% and that of men was 72.88%. In 2021, of the 3.19 crore women on the electoral rolls, over 2.31 crore had voted. In that election, of the 3.09 crore men on the rolls, about 2.25 crore had voted.
