One of the two tiger cubs, taken into captivity by the Forest department near Solada village after they were believed to have been abandoned by their mother, died on Tuesday (April 28, 2026). Officials said that a postmortem on the remains of the cub will be performed, in accordance with the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) protocols. They added that the other tiger cub will be taken to Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai, where it will be raised in captivity.
