Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik opens SRM University’s sports festival

Sakshi Malik Kadian, an Olympic medallist and Padma Shri awardee, on Thursday inaugurated SRM University-AP’s three-day national-level sports fest, UDGAM 2026, in the presence of noted wrestler Satyawart Kadian. The event celebrates sportsmanship, youth engagement and competitive excellence, bringing together athletes from universities across the country.

Vice-Chancellor Ch. Satish Kumar said the university is focused on holistic education, with equal emphasis on academic, emotional and physical well-being of students. He said steps are under way to establish a state-of-the-art sports complex that will offer training and mentorship in select disciplines, including wrestling.
