Officials have managed to send a wild elephant that had strayed into town back to the forests in Khanapur of Belagavi district. Panic spread among residents of Shivaji Nagar and surrounding areas when the wild elephant was found moving around in the sugarcane fields and the backyards of some houses on Saturday.
