Not relieved civil police constables as vacancies will go beyond permitted limits, says Police Commissioner

Mangaluru Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy has said that 63 civil police constables have not been relieved from their duties, despite their transfer orders, as, if relieved, vacancy level of constables will go up to 22% of the sanctioned strength which is not permitted as per the government order.

Mr. Reddy’s statement is in light of the demand by family members of police constables to relieve constables from the present posts and allow them to work from their home district in North Karnataka, where they have been transferred following completion of 10 years of service in Mangaluru.
