Across the commissionerate, which has nearly 1,500 schools and about 5.8 lakh enrolled students, the simple act of dropping and picking up children has emerged as a major contributor to congestion. A door-to-door survey conducted at 500 key schools covering roughly 4 lakh students has mapped the scale of the problem.
