Corporators from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) denied the allegations levelled by the YSRCP leaders over regularisation of the government lands. JSP Corporator P.L.V.N. Murthy and TDP Floor leader P. Srinivasa Rao said that the tahsildar had sent proposals for the land alienation, and those proposals were put before the GVMC Council just for information. The NDA corporators alleged that Mayor Peela Srinivasa Rao, a prominent BC leader from the city, was assaulted by the YSRCP corporators. “Intentionally, the YSRCP leaders have not circulated the videos of assault on the Mayor to media,” they claimed. They alleged that the YSRCP leaders did not want the agenda points to be discussed in the GVMC Council meeting and created a drama. Meanwhile, a large number of YSRCP leaders, along with their supporters, staged a protest near the Gandhi Statue opposite the GVMC office, against the alleged regularisation of 54-acre government land at Rushikonda. Among the leaders who took part in the protest were Zilla Parishad Chairperson J. Subhadra and former MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar.
