The people of West Bengal stand in long queues from early in the morning to cast their votes. The polling stations see stable crowds mixed with women, senior citizens and young voters of different castes and religions who have gathered together to exercise their franchise.

From MLAs to farmers to the common people, all show up to cast their vote.

However as the first phase of the voting process has seen incidents of violence, the police officers and security forces remain alert, and keenly monitor the process so that there are no disruptions during that time.
