A 16-year-old boy and his mother were killed in a road accident after their bike rammed into a truck near a temple in north-west Delhi’s Narela, the police said on Friday. According to the police, information about the accident was received at the Narela police station around 3 p.m. on Thursday. Police personnel rushed to the spot, and a crime team was called to inspect the scene. Preliminary inquiry revealed that the teenager was travelling with his 40-year-old mother. They were heading from Narela towards Bawana on Old Narela-Bawana Road when their two-wheeler collided with a truck. Both sustained critical injuries and were shifted to hospitals. The boy was declared brought dead at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, while his mother succumbed to her injuries at Valmiki Hospital, the police said. The truck driver was apprehended at the spot. Police have initiated legal proceedings and are investigating the case. Further action will be taken as per the law, officials added.
