A 17-year-old girl reportedly died in Madanapalle town of Annamayya district on Thursday (April 16, 2026) night. Her family had migrated from Bihar about nine years ago for construction work. The family told the police that a local youth, Sasikumar, 25, had taken the minor away twice over the past year, following which her parents withdrew her from school. After recent warnings of legal action under child protection laws, Sasikumar is said to have brought her back to the family in the presence of elders on Thursday night.
