A middle-aged couple was found dead at their house in West Jyoti Nagar, north-east Delhi, the police said on Friday. “The couple left a note citing financial burden and their two sons not having fixed employment as reasons for taking the extreme step,” a police officer said. The sons found the couple dead when they returned home after having dinner outside, the officer added. “On investigating with neighbours and family members, it was found that they had taken some loans,” the officer said. According to the police, the bodies have been sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem examination and no foul play is suspected in the case. Forensic teams arrived at the house and collected evidence, the police said. Proceedings are being conducted under Section 194 (procedure for investigating and reporting on unnatural deaths, such as suicides) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Further investigation is in progress, the officer said. (Those in distress can contact Tele MANAS at 14416 to seek help.)
