Loan app operators suspected behind youth’s disappearance in Vadakara

The family of a 25-year-old youth who recently went missing from his house in Vadakara has alleged that threats from some online loan app operators may be behind the incident.

According to a complaint filed by the family with the cyber police, Vishnu Prakash, who went missing on April 13, had been under severe stress following repeated harassment and intimidation by some agents associated with a digital lending app.

They claimed that he had taken small loans through mobile apps, but was later subjected to relentless pressure, including abusive calls, demanding repayment far exceeding the borrowed amount.
