SHETTIGAR The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy presented its honourary awards and book awards for the year 2025 at a programme organised at St. Francis Xavier Church in Udyavara, Udupi, on Monday (April 27). Inaugurating the programme, Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop Emeritus of the Udupi Diocese, said that though the influence of regional languages is declining in the midst of global and international languages, it is commendable that the Konkani Sahitya Academy is making every effort to preserve Konkani.
