Subin Alexander Chacko, the prime accused in the Thiruvalla spa gang rape case, has been placed under preventive detention under the Kerala Anti Social Activities Prevention Act. The District Collector, in the capacity of District Magistrate, issued the detention order based on a report submitted by District Police Chief R. Anand. Acting on the directive, the Thiruvalla Station House Officer transferred Mr. Chacko, who had been in judicial custody at the Mavelikkara sub jail in connection with the case, to the Central Prison in Thiruvananthapuram.
