Congress veteran and former Union Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday questioned whether AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s “silence” on the delimitation issue was from a lack of understanding or a sense of apprehension.

Speaking to journalists in Karaikudi, Mr. Chidambaram said: “The 106th Amendment Act was brought as early as September 2023 to reserve one-third (181 seats) of the existing 543 Lok Sabha constituencies for women. They (BJP) have implemented it now, after a delay of 30 months.”
