The annual Hubballi International Kite Festival and sports meet of indigenous games promoted by Member of Parliament and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi will be organised in Hubballi on February 7 and 8.

Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Friday, Mr. Joshi said that as a large number of people is expected to gather to watch the kite festival and sports meet, the event will be organised on the open space next to Oxford College on Kusugal Road in Hubballi.

The annual international kite festival attracts kite flyers from across the country and elsewhere.

Mr. Joshi said that in the inaugural event on February 7, chairman of Legislative Council Basavaraj Horatti, MLAs Mahesh Tenginakai, Arvind Bellad and M.R. Patil, MLCs Pradeep Shettar and S.V. Sankanur, Mayor Jyoti Patil and Deputy Mayor Santosh Chavan and others will participate as guests.

In the event being organised as part of MPs Cultural and Sports Event, there will be various food stalls and various desi games, while painting competitions in different categories will be conducted.

Mr. Joshi said that on the evening of February 7 playback singers Jaskaran Singh, Divya Ramachandra, Nakul Abhyankar and his troupe will perform and on the next day, famous playback singer Sonu Nigam and child prodigy Mahanya Patil and troupe will enthrall the audience.

He said that the winners of the sports meet will be given cash prizes along with trophies.

Mayor Jyoti Patil and Deputy Mayor Santosh Chavan were present.
