With lakhs of bus users keenly tracking updates about potential major disruption in Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) services with a workers strike looming, the State government rushed to contain the situation by calling for talks with RTC Joint Action Committee, a body of employee unions, at 5 pm on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).

The strike that is scheduled to come into effect with morning duties on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) continues to remain in effect, RTC JAC office bearer Thomas Reddy told The Hindu on Tuesday. He added that it was the responsibility of the JAC to enter into a dialogue with the TGSRTC management, which includes Vice Chairman and Managing Director( VC & MD) Y. Nagi Reddy, as well as the government, represented by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
