With polling for the Assembly elections scheduled on April 23, the Erode district administration has imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles along the Coimbatore–Mysuru National Highway (NH-948) through the Sathyamangalam–Bannari–Dhimbam ghat section to facilitate the smooth transport of election materials. In a press release, District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy said polling materials have to be transported to hill villages falling under the Bhavanisagar (SC) Assembly constituency, particularly those within the limits of Thalavadi and Hasanur police stations.
