Flying squads seize ₹8.35 crore worth of cash, other items in 40 days in Salem

Between March 15 and April 23, the polling day, the election flying squad officials have seized ₹8.35 crore worth of cash, liquor, drugs, and other items in Salem district.

After the date for the State Assembly election was announced by the Election Commission on March 15, the Model Code of Conduct came into force with immediate effect. In Salem district, flying squads, comprising police officials and videographers, started to conduct vehicle checks at various locations in the past 40 days (March 15 to April 23).
