Fouzia Taranum has warned of strict legal action, including registration of FIRs, against middlemen who obstruct crop-cutting experiments or attempt to influence officials in the district. Chairing the first quarterly district-level coordination committee meeting at her office in Kalaburagi on Saturday (April 18), she said any attempt to interfere with crop-cutting exercises for misuse of crop insurance benefits will be dealt with firmly. Officials were directed to immediately register FIRs against those exerting pressure or creating hurdles.
