Eswara Rao on Wednesday urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to initiate training programmes for youth in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, so they can get selected as Agniveers and serve in the Indian armed forces. Mr. Eswara Rao met Mr. Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and highlighted that Srikakulam held the top rank in sending soldiers to army from Andhra Pradesh. He stressed that prior training in physical fitness, academic skills and other related standards is essential for quick selection under the Agnipath scheme. In a press release, Mr. Eswara Rao shared that Mr. Rajnath Singh enquired about the response to the Central government’s schemes, and BJP’s network in rural areas. He shared that Mr. Rajnath would soon visit Etcherla— BJP’s first win the seat in the 2024 general elections.
