A wild elephant that wandered into a private land at Malampuzha near here was found electrocuted on Sunday. Forest officials suspected that the elephant was electrocuted from a power fence illegally set up by the land owner. An investigation is on. Elephant Lovers Sangham president Haridas Machingal said that farmers living on forest fringes should be allowed to set up power fencing only after a joint examination by the Forest and Power departments.
