The Healthcare Reforms Doctors Association (HRDA) has submitted a formal complaint to the Registrar of Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, alleging violation of interim orders of the Telangana High Court by two private medical colleges in the State.

The HRDA stated that students allotted seats under the MQ1 category in Round-2 counselling and admitted to CMR Institute of Medical Sciences and MNR Medical College and Hospital are facing serious grievances. According to the association, the managements of the two institutions are allegedly demanding full fees from the affected students and are not adhering to the interim directions issued by the Telangana HC regarding fee collection.

“The students have further complained that they are being threatened with failure and academic harassment and are being pressured to make immediate payments, resulting in severe mental stress and hardship for both the students and their parents,” they added.

In this regard, HRDA requested KNRUHS to take immediate cognisance of the complaint and issue strict directions to both institutions to ensure complete compliance with the High Court’s interim orders without deviation. The association also sought intervention to prevent coercive and unlawful fee collection practices and to ensure that neither institution threatens students with failure or academic victimisation.

Further, the association urged the university to call for an immediate compliance report from both colleges and to initiate necessary action against the managements in the event of any proven violations.
