A 51-year-old DMK booth agent died of cardiac arrest at Athikattanur here on Friday (April 24). His grief-stricken mother died a day later on Friday morning. According to sources, Mariappan (51) from Athikattanur near Tharamangalam worked as a DMK booth agent at Athikattanur on Thursday. He fainted after coming out of the booth in the afternoon for lunch. Other DMK cadre took him to government hospital, Tharamangalam, but he died on the way.
