The dam receives water from the rainfall recorded in Adalur, Panrimalai, Pannaikadu, Pullaveli, Thadiyankudisai, Mangalam Kombu and Solaikaadu and among other areas in the western ghats. The waterways are formed in such a natural way that the rain water flows in the dam through the streams.
