A large number of devotees gathered at the foreground of the Mysuru Palace on January 25 to offer prayers to the Utsava Murtis of temples located within the palace premises on the occasion of Rathasapthami.

As part of an annual tradition, the Utsava Murtis from various temples in the palace complex were brought to a single location, enabling devotees to offer special pujas and receive darshan. The idols were specially decorated, and elaborate rituals were performed at their respective temples before they were ceremoniously brought to the palace forecourt. Rathasapthami is the only day in the year when the deities are placed together at one spot for public darshan.

Priests from the temples performed pujas for the devotees, many of whom had come from different parts of the city to participate in the religious observance.

Meanwhile, marking Rathasapthami, the Mysore Yoga Okkuta organised a mass Suryanamaskara programme in front of the Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple on January 25 morning. A large number of yoga enthusiasts took part in the session, and several foreign nationals also joined in. A.S. Chandrashekar of the Yoga Okkuta and others took part in the programme.
