Death toll in fireworks accident goes up to two

The death toll in the fireworks accident at Excel fireworks at Chathrapatti near Vembakottai in Virudhunagar district on Monday rose to two on Tuesday night with the death of M. Karuppasamy.

Karuppasamy had sustained bleeding injuries as flying debris hit him following the explosion at the accident spot. On Monday, one worker M. Pandiyarajan, 38, was killed on the spot. The condition of two more workers who suffered burn injuries is said to be critical.
