The Krishna District Child Welfare Committee (CWC) bound over an entire family for conducting child marriages of two minor girls and directed that the girls be produced before the committee every month. Responding to a call to the Child Helpline, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of NTR District visited a house in Bhavanipuram of Vijayawada. “We rescued a minor girl aged about ten years,” the DCPU staff said.
