The Communist Party of India (CPI) leader, who was suspended for allegedly working against Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate and General Education Minister V. Sivankutty in the Nemom constituency during the assembly elections, denied the allegation levelled against him.

V.S. Sulochanan, the CPI district council member and former Ambalathara ward councillor in Thiruvananthapuram, has been suspended from the party after an audio clip reportedly of his voice speaking to a BJP worker in an attempt to extend support to the rival candidate surfaced.
