A Fast Track Special Court constituted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act is likely to pronounce its verdict on April 30 in the rape and murder of a nine-year-old girl child around two years ago.

After completing the trial, Special Judge M. D. Sumathi has posted the next hearing in the case for April 30. “The judge is likely to pronounce the verdict in the case during the next hearing. We had produced to the court all the evidence gathered scientifically. Around 54 prosecution witnesses were examined by the court,” a senior police officer told The Hindu.
