Contract workers stage protest seeking job security at NMDC mines

Contract workers under the banner of the Samyukta Gani Karmikara Sangha, affiliated to the All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), staged a protest in front of the NMDC administrative office in Ballari on Thursday demanding continuation of employment for all workers at the Kumaraswamy iron ore mines.

The protesters submitted a memorandum to NMDC Deputy General Manager (HR) Velu Vasanthan urging the management to ensure that all existing workers are retained though, there has been a change in contractor.
