The Collector chaired a Traffic Advisory Committee meeting with Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli at the Collectorate here. Mr. Nishant Kumar underscored the need for a comprehensive and coordinated traffic management plan, as vehicular and pedestrian movement had increased manifold after Madanapalle became the district headquarters. The Collector reviewed the existing traffic conditions in Madanapalle and discussed alternative routes, diversions, relocating local bus stands and stops at various junctions, expanding or relocating parking lots, one-way systems, and no-parking zones. He observed that the concentration of government offices, courts, commercial establishments, and educational institutions has placed immense pressure on the road space, warranting urgent corrective steps. Mr. Nishant Kumar instructed the civic authorities to immediately remove footpath encroachments, regulate street vending, and curb unauthorised parking.
