File Photo: Sansad TV via ANI Video Grab Shiv Sena UBT leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Friday (April 17, 2026) lamented the defeat of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha, even as her party voted against it in the lower house. Without naming Ms. Chaturvedi when asked about her comments, the Shiv Sena UBT said it “had busted a conspiracy by the BJP to introduce the Delimitation Bill in the garb of women’s reservation”. “Sad day for India’s women who hoped to find themselves in the Parliament or Assembly,” Ms. Chaturvedi posted on X. Soon thereafter, she also said, “I have a stand on women’s reservation that I have consistently held, and I will continue to express it. Deal with it.” Along with it was a poster which read, “I will not water myself down to make me more digestible for you. You can choke respectfully.” Published – April 17, 2026 11:10 pm IST Share this: Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) Facebook Click to share on Threads (Opens in new window) Threads Click to share on X (Opens in new window) X Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window) Telegram Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) LinkedIn Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window) Pinterest Click to email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email More Click to print (Opens in new window) Print Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) Tumblr Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window) Pocket Click to share on Mastodon (Opens in new window) Mastodon Click to share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window) Nextdoor Click to share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Like this:Like Loading...
