Official sources said the turnout pace was higher than in recent elections. In Mayiladuthurai district, 81.89% voter turnout was recorded. Of this, Mayiladuthurai constituency recorded 79.32%, Poompuhar 83.88%, and Sirkazhi (SC) constituency 82.24%.
