Tension prevailed at the District Collectorate on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) after an anonymous bomb threat email was received for the second consecutive day.

Officials said a similar email warning of explosives at the Collectorate had been received on Tuesday (April 28, 2026), following which a bomb detection and disposal squad conducted a thorough search of the premises. The team, assisted by a sniffer dog, checked all areas, including the parking lot, restrooms and lifts. No explosives were found, and the threat was later declared a hoax. A complaint was lodged with the cyber crime police, who have launched an investigation to trace the sender.
