The letter alleges an imbalance in departmental focus, with traction-related activities receiving more attention and recognition compared to E&M functions. | Photo Credit: K. MURALI KUMAR Some employees of the Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Department of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) have submitted a collective representation to the Managing Director of BMRCL, highlighting a series of operational and administrative concerns that they said were affecting efficiency, staff morale, and system reliability. In a recent letter that was accessed by The Hindu, the staff members pointed out that senior officers currently overseeing E&M functions were recruited under the Traction/Rolling Stock domain and may lack adequate exposure to core E&M systems. This, they claim, has led to gaps in technical guidance and decision-making at higher levels, placing additional pressure on mid-level managers and field staff.
