The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Mahila Morcha has strongly criticised opposition parties for opposing the Women’s Reservation Bill, stating that blocking women’s political empowerment amounts to undermining their self-respect. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Morcha State general secretary Nagamalleswari said the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan’ Bill, introduced under the leadership of Narendra Modi, seeks to ensure fair representation for women in legislatures. She alleged that while women are making significant strides in education, economy and defence sectors, attempts are being made to restrict their political participation.
