The 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Puducherry on Tuesday. Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, legislators and leaders representing various political parties garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar near the Legislative Assembly. Various social organisations took out a march before paying tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution. Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Congress, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Left parties paid homage.
